Day 1 - SAN JOSE:
Transfer from the International Airport to a hotel in San José. Car rental delivered, basic car
insurance included. Credit card deposit required for deductible. Accommodation in Best
Western Irazú Hotel
Day 2 - SAN JOSE / ARENAL:
Breakfast at the hotel. Take your car, drive north and witness the spectacular eruptions of
the Arenal Volcano -the most active volcano in Costa Rica- resembling fireworks at night.
Explore San Carlos, famous for its fertile grounds and foliage. Approximate travel time: 3 ½
hours. Accommodation in Arenal Country Inn Hotel
Day 3 - ARENAL:
Breakfast at the hotel. Today we will visit different tourist attractions in the area such as
Venado Caves, the foothills of Arenal Volcano, La Fortune Waterfalls, Caño Negro National
Wildlife Refuge, or you can enjoy hotel amenities. Accommodation in Arenal Country Inn Hotel
Day 4 - ARENAL / MONTEVERDE:
Breakfast at the hotel. Today, we will head to Monteverde, famous for its world-renowned
Cloud Forest Biological Reserve. Approximate travel time: 3 hours. Accomodation in Heliconia
Hotel
Day 5 - MONTEVERDE:
Breakfast at the hotel. During the day, you can visit world-renowned Monteverde Biological
Reserve and take a walk through its trails, or you can go to the picturesque town of Santa
Elena, the humming bird gallery, the butterfly garden or the local dairy farm. Accommodation in
Heliconia Hotel
Day 6 - MONTEVERDE / PLAYA JACÓ:
Breakfast at the hotel. The tour continues to the Central Pacific region, on the Panamerican
highway, passing by Puerto Caldera and bordering beautiful beaches. Approximate travel time:
4 hours. Accommodation in Best Western Jaco Beach Hotel
Day 7 - PLAYA JACÓ:
Breakfast at the hotel. Today you can different tours to choose from, including a visit to Manuel
Antonio National Park at one and a half driving hours from Jacó. This park is famous
worldwide for its white sand beaches and plenty of wildlife such as white-faced monkeys,
sloths, iguanas and colorful birds. You can also take an adventure tour.
If you just want to relax, you can stay at the hotel and enjoy its facilities. Accommodation in
Best Western Jaco Beach Hotel
Day 8 - PLAYA JACÓ / INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT:
Breakfast at the hotel. Return to San Jose to take a flight back home. Today, you will enjoy a
fascinating tour. Approximate travel time: 2 hours. You will drop the car off at the International
Airport.
